Eagles Trade Up With Redskins Means a Win for the Jets

Philadelphia Eagles Nick Foles - Washington Redskins Brandon Meriweather
Didn’t the Tennessee Titans trade their #1 overall pick to the L.A. Rams just yesterday? And now the Philadelphia Eagles moved up 6 spots in the draft for the #2 pick. I think the Eagles gave up a lot of picks to the Cleveland Brown with little in return. Just my opinion. They traded away their 2016 #8 overall pick, 2016 3rd rounder, 2016 4th rounder, 2017 1st round, and 2nd rounder in 2018. In return the Browns gave up the 2016 #2 overall pick plus a conditional 2017 5th rounder.

Eagles acquire No. 2 overall draft pick from Browns – NFL.com The Philadelphia Eagles have moved into position to potentially draft a franchise quarterback. The team acquired the No. 2 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft in a trade with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.

Five picks for two. Seems lopsided.

All this suggests that the Eagles are targeting a QB. With the recent Titans-Rams trade, it is well known that the Rams are going to draft a quarterback when that happened, be it Carson Wentz from North Dakota State or California QB Jared Goff. Now with this recent transaction, knowing that the Eagles are in need of a QB also, it’s a guarantee that both Wentz and Goff will be selected consecutively with the #1 and #2 overall picks. And all other top tier draft prospects will slide down in the draft to the other teams including your Jets.

Now I am more certain that more talent will be available to the New York Jets at the #20 pick in the first round. How right I was in my post just a few days ago.
