Where Ryan Fitzpatrick ranks on ESPN QB poll

Brett Favre #4 of the New York Jets“Where was I?!” exclaimed Ryan Fitzpatrick.

He is not the only curious one. All New York Jets fans want to know how well the Beard compared to other quarterbacks in the NFL.

Here’s how Ryan Fitzpatrick responds to ESPN’s annual QB rankings – NY Daily News Ryan Fitzpatrick was dripping with sarcasm upon hearing the news that ESPN had just released its annual QB ranking.

The highly anticipated ESPN QB poll came out! We all know that Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers will be at the top, so let’s jump to where Fitzpatrick was voted on by 42 NFL personnel. He was slotted near the bottom as a “legit starter, but needs heavy run game/defense to win.” There is no way that Ryan should be ranked 25th by the voters, given what he produced for Gang Green in 2015. His 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns were New York Jets franchise records, which prompted receiver team mate Brandon Marshall to call him “elite”. In a year when the Jets were expected to have a terrible season, the Beard led the team to a 10-6 campaign and had a career year under offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. It is true that Fitzpatrick is better than 1 year wonder Tyrod Taylor of the Buffalo Bills or injury prone Robert Griffin III from the Cleveland Browns.

But then what were the voters thinking?

Matthew Stafford 14th?

Jay Cutler 21st?

These losers can’t accomplish anything, much less take their team far. Ryan, on the other hand, makes the players around him better. He was the reason why Brandon Marshall (109 catches for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns) and Eric Decker (80 catches 1,027 yards 12 TDs) had the best years of their careers. Even though he was a new QB coming into a new team, the Beard was able to grasp the terminology of Gailey’s spread offense and run his scheme on the field. Not only is Fitzpatrick an intelligent QB but he is also a leader for Gang Green. Between the hash marks, he commands the offense. Off the field, he isn’t involved in controversies (unlike the scandal of Geno Smith fighting with his own team mate in 2015).

With all these positive qualities that Fitzpatrick has shown on the New York Jets, he should not be ranked as a low as 25 on the ESPN QB poll. He is a top 15 passer who leads by example and has no issues detrimental to the team. The 42 NFL insiders made a huge mistake and should have their positions reevaluated. If they couldn’t rank the Beard higher than 25 in the poll, then what are they doing? Ryan is as good a QB as the top tier QBs based on what he has produced for the Jets.
