Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets: Time, TV, how to watch live stream online | OregonLive.com The Steelers scored a season-high 43 points in the win against Kansas City in Week 4. The Jets have lost two straight and their fans are blaming quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The New York Jets lost to the Seattle Seahawks 27-17 in Week 4, a game where they gave up big plays on defense to Russell Wilson. Now they face Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers who just threw for 300 yards and 5 touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 in a 43-14 blowout win. How does Darrelle Revis and the Jets secondary matchup against Big Ben?

Ben Roethlisberger vs the New York Jets secondary

Steelers 10th in total offense vs Jets 16th in total defense

Steelers 12th in passing offense vs Jets 26th in passing defense

Steelers 7th in points scored vs Jets 21th in points allowed

The Jets have allowed seven completions of at least 40 yards, which is at the bottom of the NFL ranks. They have been beaten deep by A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Greg Salas of the Buffalo Bills in September. Although Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams are breaking through offensive lines and pressuring the quarterbacks, Darrelle Revis and the Jets defensive backs can’t hold the back end of the secondary. Enter Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He leads the NFL with 25 completions and 5 TDs on passes of at least 25 yards. Plus, he is the league’s top-rated passer on play-action.

All of this means that he completes his passes when throwing the football deep downfield. Now Big Ben takes on a Jets secondary that is struggling to cover receivers on balls thrown deep. Not only does New York have to cover the best receiver in the NFL in Antonio Brown (369 receiving yards 4 TDs) but they have to account for the best playmaker in the NFL in Le’Veon Bell. After coming back to the league when his suspension ended, Bell ran on 18 carries for 144 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs, making it seem as if he had no rust at all due to the games he missed. As if his rushing skills weren’t enough, Gang Green also has to defend him out of the backfield since he is the best running back at catching passes from the QB. As the Jets focus on Brown, Roethlisberger will throw the short 5 yard pass to Le’Veon on the curl route, who will then make plays with his legs.

This is the worst matchup for the New York Jets out of the entire 32 teams in the league. The Steelers who throw and complete deep passes down the field. The Jets who can’t cover receivers down deep. If Big Ben threw for 5 TDs against the Chiefs who have a much better defense than Gang Green, how can the Jets even try to cover the weapons in Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell?
